Thank you so much for all the help I am receiving for RACK.  I could not do this without parent help.  I appreciate all the support.
Don’t forget I will keep sending home readers these few weeks before Christmas.  I know it is a super busy time!  I get it!!!  But, we still have learning to do and reading at home is so important.  I won’t be sending home any other homework except readers.  J

Enjoy your weekend!  Merry Christmas!

Special Events
Nov. 23rd – 27th   Thanksgiving  holidays
When we come back from our Thanksgiving holiday we will begin 3 weeks of  Random Acts of Kindness.  I will need LOTS of help with this.  There is a note in your child’s folder about  our R.A.C.K.  Let me know if you can  help!  Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I have had some great parents send in some cool stationary for us to use in our work on writing center.  If you’d like to donate some to our class, that would be great…stationary, envelopes, note pads etc.  Dollar Store usually has some good stuff!

Math Notes
We just finished a tough problem solving unit!  The kids really had to think about whether to use addition or subtraction and which strategy to use.  They worked really hard!
Next up is numbers to 100 – expanded form and decomposing numbers.

From the Teacher
Happy Turkey Day!
Hope everyone has a wonderful break…you deserve it!
Be safe if you are traveling and I will see the kids bright and early on November 30th!

When we come back from our Thanksgiving holiday we will begin 3 weeks of  Random Acts of Kindness.  I will need LOTS of help with this.  I’ll be sending home a note before the break.  Just wanted to give everyone  a heads up!

Thank you for coming to our Veterans Day Program.  It was a great success!  We could not have done it without your help getting your children here on time and with the right color on!  I think we all did a fantastic job!

From the Teacher

I would like to say thank you to the

Fernandez family, the Wilson family

and the Gebhardt family for coming

to speak to our class on Veterans

Day.  The kids asked such good

questions (not always easy to

answer) and all of our guests were

wonderful and patient.  It made the

day much more personal and it

means so much more to the class

when they actually talk to a Veteran.

  What a special day

We have had a busy week, but a good one!  We have been singing our Veterans songs and learning why we celebrate this holiday.  We read a book this week called “Those Shoes”.  We talked about things we want vs. things we need.
Next week we will continue learning about Veterans and write thank you letters for the ones who are attending our program.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Thanks1

PLEASE REMEMBER OUR VETERANS PROGRAM IS WEDNESDAY AT 6.  WE NEED THE STUDENTS IN THE CAFETERIA AT 5:45.  THE PROGRAM WILL BE IN THE GYM.
