February 3^rd – Dental Health visit

February 12^th – Valentine Party

February 15^th – President’s Day – student holiday/teacher work day

February 17-18^th – tile painting in the evening (see PTO website)

From the Teacher

Rocket Reader is starting!  This is my favorite program we do all year!  Please help your child start their reports this week.  You will HAVE to sign each report and put the page numbers.  Then your child will read them in class to get their star.  Save the Date – May 20^th is our celebration day and you will come to our picnic lunch! 

THANK YOU FOR ALL MY BIRTHDAY TREATS!  YOU HAVE MADE THIS “OLD” LADY FEEL VERY SPECIAL THIS WEEK.  LOVE TO ALL!  WHAT A GREAT GROUP!!!

January 22^nd – report cards and DRA reports come home (please sign and return)

January 25^th – Rocket Reader folders come home.  Please read through the information packet.  Help your child choose their goal and sign their contract.  The contracts are due back by Friday, January 29^th. If you have ANY questions please call me or email me.

February 1^st – Rocket Reader program will begin

Report cards will come home today!  Please sign the envelope and return.  You may keep the report card for you.  I am sending home the DRA form for you to sign.  Please sign and return all the pages and I will tear off your copy and send it home for your records.  If you have ANY questions, PLEASE call me!  I’d be happy to meet with you.

From the Teacher

I will begin DRA testing (Developmental Reading Assessment) next week.  Your child may not receive a reader because of this.  I just wanted you to know.  

It is supposed to be pretty chilly next week, please send your child to school with a coat.  We WILL go outside unless it is wet or too cold for me!
