High-Frequency Words: so, soon, that, there, they, under

Phonics/ Spelling: ch/th words (examples – chip, with, that, much)

Math: Unit 4 – Foundations of Numbers to 20/ review of addition & subtraction

Important Dates:

*October 23^rd – Papa John’s Teacher Delivery Night

*October 24^th – end of 1^st Nine Weeks

*October 27 -31^st Red Ribbon Week (There is a note coming home in Friday folders with the theme for each day.)

*October 31^st – report cards come home (sign the envelope and return on Monday, November 3^rd)

*October 31^st – Pumpkin Parties

Our P.E. days are Monday/Wednesday/Friday.  Please wear

safe shoes!

I will be testing the students on their sight words this week.  Those are the yellow flash cards I sent home at the beginning of the nine weeks.

I will be sending home the 2^nd Nine Weeks words soon.

Thank you for reading with your child and returning their folders.  It is very helpful to me.

Please remember that I am sending home a spelling skill sheet each week with 5 examples of our spelling words, the word wall words and a dictation sentence that WILL be on our quiz on Friday.  

Thank you for sending in socks!  We will be using them next week.  

***I will be looking for a few volunteers to come in the week of Halloween, probably on Thursday, October 30th to help us with a math activity.  It will involve bringing a pumpkin, helping the students carve a pumpkin and cleaning it out to count the seeds.  It will be MESSY and STINKY!!  If you're still interested...please let me know!!! Ha!!
